When you are filing your own taxes does it matter if man or woman is considered the spouse? ?

I filed me and my husband's taxes on line for the first time, he is considered the spouse on the tax form, does this matter? or should I be the spouse? When you are filing your own taxes does it matter if man or woman is considered the spouse? ?
If you want to file as Mrs. %26amp; Mr. IRS doesn't care as long as the rest of the return is good. When you are filing your own taxes does it matter if man or woman is considered the spouse? ?
It doesn't matter but common practice is to put the woman as spouse and the man as the taxpayer. If you do a lot of returns it can be confusing if the roles are reversed.

However you do it I suggest that you be consistent or you may have trouble remembering how you did it in a given year.
There shouldn't be a problem who is the spouse, as long as your taxes have been filed and the IRS doesnt have a problem with how you did it then you should be fine
Doesn't matter, but the IRS strongly prefers that you do it in the same order every year.
Doesn't matter.
Doesn't matter which order you show your names.
