How do you get your name off of the vehicle loan when your spouse gets it in the divorce?

Her credit is not good enough to get a loan for it on her own. How do I get my name off of it before her non payments ruin my credit? How do you get your name off of the vehicle loan when your spouse gets it in the divorce?
Send them a copy of the decree and request that you be deleted from the loan. How do you get your name off of the vehicle loan when your spouse gets it in the divorce?
Unless the divorce decree said you no longer have to make those payments.... you will unfortunately have to keep paying for the car. It was awarded to her, but it still has to be paid for. If you want to protect your credit, you should just tell her that you will make the payments, instead of trusting her to do so. Hopefully, you got something in the divorce decree that was already paid for?
Shouldn't this have been handled by your divorce lawyer, it is not something you can just do your self. Get your lawyer on it that is what you paid them for!!
I just went through the same thing. She either has to refinance the car or sell it outright, If her credit isn't very good then she will need another co-signer. If I were you, I wouldn't just leave it up to her.
That means she has to pay the bank. Ask the bank to remove your name if not tell ex to refi the car tell her she might be able to lower payments. Tell her the car makes her look old/fat and to buy a new one (not in your name). Anyone can always get a car loan!
You can't. The only way to get your name off of the loan is to pay off this loan, or refinance it in her name only. However, if her credit is not great she would have to get a different co-signer.

Creditors do not care about divorce decrees, so if she was ordered to make the payments but fails you are still responsible. The only action you really have is to pay the payments on the loan so it does not mess up your credit. Then go after her in civil court.
