Is A Person With An Overweight Spouse More Likely to be Depressed?

Does having an overweight spouse increase the odds of depression for the other spouse? Is A Person With An Overweight Spouse More Likely to be Depressed?
Of course not. An overweight spouse probably has some issues, we all do and most of this country is overweight. If he/she is obese, then you might help by being supportive in any way you can. Don't constantly bring it up, as that will make him/her eat more.

Depression can be caused by external events, but usually depression is ';chemical'; like diabetes or any other chronic disease. People don't understand depression still, after all the publicity about it.

If your spouse has problems, and it affects your marriage, try to get him/her some good therapy, tell him/her that you love them and are concerned. Good luck!Is A Person With An Overweight Spouse More Likely to be Depressed?
Only if you don't love your spouse for who he or she is and looks like. MOST Americans are somewhat overweight these days. Your odds for depression may increase if you have a depressed spouse, but weight has nothing to do with it.
If I had an over weight spouse I would plan a workout routine together 3 or 4 times a week and a good eating plan. It would be fun because it would also mean alot of quality time. But if you just sit around and let your spouse become overweight and don't try to help both of you should be depressed.
